News Update - September 2018
Scott and I are excited to say that after a few years ;) we are doing another fundraiser for the Charlotte Frey Foundation. It couldn’t come at a more meaningful time: Charlotte passed away 8 years ago this past September 3, and each year we long to feel close to her in any way we can.
This year on October 13th, I will be running the Hartford Marathon, only my 2nd marathon to date! I am so happy to be running in honor of my daughter Charlotte. It is a challenge that reminds me how precious my health is and how fragile life really is. We are excited to say we have a few friends on board running either the 5k, the half, or the full marathon with us! In the past few years, since our last update we have been fortunate enough to use the foundation to help families and schools. In 2016 we were able donate a little over $27,000 to The Children’s Center For Communication at Beverly School for the Deaf. Our contribution went directly towards assistive technology for enhanced communication for students with severe disabilities. Every year the Charlotte Foundation has contributed towards the PACT team (Pediatric Advanced Care Team) at Boston Children’s Hospital and Dana Farber Hospital in Boston. In 2018 our Foundation paid for a queen size hospital bed that was specifically designed for a 20 year old young lady with Spinal Bifida. It is our joy to provide for and help families and schools; in doing so, we feel like we are honoring the life of our Charlotte.
